In a similar way to every parish, St Peter's runs a stewardship programme to support its fundraising efforts. The issue of finance is seldom absent from the local church agenda and it is true that there has been a significant shift in funding over the last fifty years given that the cost of running the Church has increased over the years by more than inflation and that the contribution of the Church Commissioners has decreased.
We are fortunate to have so many parishioners, not just regular churchgoers, who feel sufficiently engaged to support us with regular giving, which is so important to the maintenance of the church and the work it does in the wider village.
Recently, we have become involved with a new initiative, supported by the Chichester Diocese, called the Parish Giving Scheme which provides the opportunity for St Peter's to receive any tax benefits arising from donations on a monthly basis rather than at the end of any tax year. This provides significant advantages to the church with no impact on the donor. If you feel able to support us with regular giving, either large or small, please contact our Covenant Secretary, David Warwick on 01403 700262 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
