2024 UNLOCK Walk

A party of walkers from St Peter's started going on the London walks in 1987. Some of us are still walking 37 years later - although maybe rather decrepit now!! They have always been days of fun - even in snow one year and a deluge another!! We have learnt so much about different parts of London and different churches on our walks – and although we walk 8 or 9 miles we stop at several churches en route. And nearly every church supplies coffee and cake (never as good as Xpresso cake, though!). One year 3 walkers had a full English breakfast – much to the despair of their wives!!

We have realised how the desperately poor parts of London have improved and seen the work of Unlock in areas of poverty and sadness. We went to Tottenham the year after the terrible riots that killed a policeman. It was a joy to see how the multiracial community had come together to celebrate each other and bring the love of Christ into homes that were angry and hurt.
